Hurricane Season is Flood Season - Your clients need to be informed about the changes to their flood insurance.
Did you know that FEMA has drawn up new flood zone maps for 95% of the population? If you have customers in Hawaii, are they aware that new digital flood maps for Maui County will become official on September 25, 2009?
Property owners who have a federally backed mortgage are required to purchase flood insurance. Residents and business owners who take out a policy before September 25, 2009, can take advantage of lower flood insurance premiums saving hundreds of dollars annually. Any flood policy purchased on or after September 25 could receive a higher rate if it is determined the insured property resides in a high-risk flood zone.
